Gangtok helicopter operations use the Burtuk Helipad on Indira Bypass Road, Lower Burtuk. Pawan Hans currently lists an operational Gangtok base at this location. Pawan Hans Guests should arrive according to the reporting time stated in their confirmed booking.
Passengers complete the required aviation formalities before boarding. Depending on the service, this may include: Identity verification Passenger manifest Baggage check Weight information Security procedures Safety briefing The operator's instructions take priority over the itinerary.
For a sightseeing booking, the helicopter follows the route authorised for that flight. Weather, visibility, aircraft availability and aviation clearance determine whether the flight can operate. For this reason I would never promise a particular mountain will be visible.
The aircraft returns to the designated helipad unless the confirmed booking is a point-to-point transfer.
