THE ROAD AHEAD
Four chapters. Eight days across Sikkim.
The first bend
Days 1–2: Meet the crew, take the Old Silk Route and arrive in Gangtok.
The road north
Days 3–4: Leave Gangtok for Lachen and the planned Gurudongmar circuit.
The high valleys
Days 5–6: Travel through the planned Yumthang and Zero Point route before crossing towards Pelling.
The final stretch
Days 7–8: Explore West Sikkim, share a final evening and return to the confirmed drop-off point.
The Strangers Meet Difference
You get the group experience without disappearing into a crowd.
Some of the best moments happen between the stops: someone passes you a cup of tea after an early start, the cars pull over for a mountain view, and yesterday’s strangers begin planning the next photograph together. A smaller convoy gives those moments room to happen. The practical side matters just as much. Before you reserve, we’ll show you the route, room arrangement, meals, vehicle plan and costs for your departure. A local trip lead is planned to coordinate the journey, while permit, road and weather conditions determine which high-altitude visits can operate.

FAQ
1. Can I join alone?
Yes. You do not need to bring a travel partner. We’ll send you the meeting point and joining instructions before departure, and explain your room arrangement before you book.
2. Will I have to share a room?
A solo place may use a shared room. Tell us if you would prefer a private room; we’ll confirm whether one is available and what it costs. Your quotation will state your room arrangement.
3. How many people will travel together?
The eight-day journey is planned for a maximum of 14 travellers across three vehicles. We’ll confirm the group limit, vehicle and seating arrangement for your chosen departure.
4. Where does the trip start and finish?
The planned journey starts and finishes in the Siliguri, NJP or Bagdogra area. Your booking confirmation will give the exact pickup and drop-off points and timings. Please check those timings before booking your flight or train.
5. Is this a women-only departure?
Only a departure specifically marked “women-only” is women-only. Other Strangers Meet departures may be mixed groups. Ask us about your preferred date and we’ll confirm the group format before you book.
6. Are Nathula, Gurudongmar and Zero Point guaranteed?
No. They are on the planned route, but access depends on eligibility, permits, weather, roads and local operating decisions. We’ll explain the conditions for your departure and what the booking terms say if a visit cannot take place.
7. Is rafting included?
The eight-day itinerary plans a Teesta rafting session on Day 1. Your current quotation will confirm whether its cost is included and what happens if river conditions or the operator prevent the session. Tell us your arrival time so we can check whether you can join the planned stop.
8. What happens if a mountain road closes?
Your trip lead will explain the feasible route options based on the conditions at the time. Before you pay, we’ll share the booking terms that explain how a material itinerary change and any price difference or credit will be handled.
