Activities Plan
Guests arrive at the confirmed rafting meeting point near the Melli / lower river corridor. The exact reporting location will be provided with the booking because operating and launch points can change according to the route being used.
The operating team completes the necessary activity formalities and provides the required safety equipment. Guests should check that their helmet and flotation device fit properly before entering the raft.

The raft enters the designated river stretch. The exact course is selected by the operating team according to water level, weather, current and operational safety conditions.
After completing the rafting stretch, guests disembark at the designated landing point and return or continue their onward journey according to their travel arrangement.

We arrange rafting around the Melli and lower Teesta–Rangit river corridor, subject to the route being operated on your travel date. Sikkim Tourism recognises the Teesta and Rangeet/Rangit river system for river adventure activities.
Not necessarily. The appropriate route should be selected according to participant experience and the operator's assessment. Some Teesta stretches are used for relatively easier rafting, while stronger sections may involve more demanding rapids.
Some operators use selected stretches for non-swimmers, but this should never be promised universally. Participation depends on the route, river conditions and the rafting operator's safety decision.
The booked rafting operation should provide the required rafting safety equipment, including a helmet and personal flotation device. We advise every guest to attend the complete safety briefing and follow the river guide's instructions throughout the activity.
Availability depends heavily on rainfall, river flow and operational safety conditions. Heavy monsoon conditions can make rafting unsuitable, so we confirm the activity close to the travel date rather than guaranteeing river operations months in advance.
Yes. River rafting is a weather- and water-dependent adventure activity. The operating team may change the route, postpone or cancel the activity if conditions are considered unsuitable.
Capacity depends on the raft and operator. One current Melli-area product advertises up to five guests with operating personnel, but we confirm the actual capacity when booking.
