Zuluk is one of East Sikkim’s most distinctive mountain destinations. Set along the historic Old Silk Route, it is known for its dramatic roads, quiet Himalayan surroundings and the famous series of bends that climb above the village.

This was once part of an important trade route connecting Tibet with India. Today, the same road is known for its scenery, history and the feeling of travelling through a more remote side of Sikkim. The Government of Sikkim continues to recognize Zuluk as an important historic and scenic route.

The route moves through Zuluk Loops, climbs towards Thambi Viewpoint, continues through the high-altitude landscape of Gnathang Valley, and reaches Kupup further along the Old Silk Route.
