Lachung is one of the most beautiful mountain villages in North Sikkim. Set beside the Lachung Chu, it is best known as the gateway to Yumthang Valley and Zero Point, but the village itself is part of the experience.

The road to Lachung moves through deep valleys, waterfalls and changing mountain scenery before reaching a quieter, colder landscape. The village has also retained its traditional Dzumsa system of local self-governance, which gives Lachung a character of its own.

Lachung is ideal for travelers who want to experience North Sikkim beyond the usual hill-town setting.

From here, the journey continues towards Yumthang Valley, famous for its alpine landscape and seasonal flowers, and further towards Zero Point, where the scenery becomes more open, rugged and snow-covered during colder periods.
